About Current Events Hub

Hi! I’m Paul, a practicing social studies teacher and IB Coordinator who has spent years trying to do my best to teach current events effectively. I built Current Events Hub because I want to share current events lesson plans that are fast to use, thoughtful in tone, and genuinely global, with the differentiation and structure teachers need.

If you’re trying to help students think clearly about a noisy world, you’re in the right place.

Current Events Hub is a library of classroom-ready current events lesson plans for Grades 6–12. Each lesson plan starts with one real-world news event and turns it into a complete, discussion-ready lesson in three grade levels (Grades 6-8, 9-10, and 11–12 / AP / IB).

If you’ve ever tried to teach the news and thought, “This matters… but I don’t have time to build it well,” you’re not alone. Current events can be powerful, but they can be tricky and time consuming to teach.

That’s where we come in.

Our goal is simple: help you teach what’s happening in the world in a way that’s age-appropriate, globally minded, and aligned to the skills your curriculum already asks for.
